Cranmer Court celebrates 65 years of marriage

Residents Arthur and Emily Harvey celebrated 65 years of wedded bliss this week with a romantic day at Cranmer Court.

The happy couple were married on 11th September 1948 and to mark their ‘blue sapphire’ anniversary, the staff put on a romantic dinner in the activity room. The table was beautifully decorated with balloons and confetti as they enjoyed a glass of wine and a cake that had been specially prepared for them.

Following the meal, Elvis impersonator Paul Weaver serenaded the proud pair with a love song. Emily and Arthur were overwhelmed with the whole experience and Emily was even heard to say it was the best anniversary they have had!

Some of the Cranmer court residents joined them afterwards as ‘Elvis’ continued his rendition. He had everyone up dancing with several of the staff and residents as his backing dancers. The residents had a wonderful afternoon and Paul has been invited back by popular demand, next time as Tom Jones!

Located on Farleigh Common, Cranmer Court is a purpose built care home providing residential and nursing care for up to 62 elderly people.
