Community supports successful summer fete at Oak Manor

Scarning based care home Oak Manor opened its doors to the community once more this week as they held their popular annual summer fete.

Deputy Mayor Kate Millbank was thrilled to cut the ribbon and officially open the event. Many members of the local community joined residents and staff to support the event at the specialist dementia care home.

Activities included face painting, a jumble stall, ‘guess the weight of the cake’ and a bouncy castle. Local ‘Zoo-tastic’ brought a variety of animals for people to interact with, from rabbits to snakes and Activities Coordinator Billy McKee made sure everyone was entertained with live music on the day.

Oak Manor Manager, Anne Gregory told us:

‘Everyone has had a great time today! It is always wonderful when the community comes together to support these events – it is important to our residents that they remain an active part of the wider community.

I would like to thank all of our staff for their hard work in organising the day, everyone who attended including Kate Millbank, along with all the local businesses who gave up their time to make the day a success.’

Located in the peaceful village of Scarning near Dereham, Oak Manor provides specialist dementia care for up to 61 people. The home is run by family-owned Caring Homes Group, which was founded in 1994 by mother and son team, Helena and Paul Jeffery.
