Cheese Tasting at Knowle Park

Residents at Knowle Park enjoyed a cheese tasting session with a selection of cheeses provided by our Activity Organiser. Once again this proved to be a resounding success with 12 people joining us in our drawing room. They all really enjoyed getting the chance to sample lots of different cheeses; some of which they had not tasted before.

As we age our taste buds aren’t quite what they once were. By providing these tasting sessions it  gives the residents at Knowle Park the opportunity to try food which may help with their nutrition, stimulate the brain and some of the senses; smell, taste, sight and touch. The residents really enjoy interacting with each other on these occasions discussing their favorites and what they do or don’t like about a particular cheese. When it comes to cheese the smellier and stronger the better!

As this activity proved so popular we are now looking to organise regular food tasting events. Our residents are eagerly looking forward to next week when we have a selection of cold meats for them to enjoy.
