Brooklyn House celebrates 70th anniversary of VE Day

12th May 2015

With Friday the 8th of May marking 70 years since VE Day, the staff and residents of Brooklyn House were keen to celebrate the important anniversary.

To prepare for the occasion, the residents decorated the sitting room and took part in a thought provoking reminiscence session about their memories of VE Day itself.

With the kitchen team providing traditional English fare of rabbit pie for lunch, everyone then settled down to watch the cenotaph ceremony on television, with all of the staff and residents also respecting a three minute silence during the service to commemorate the fallen.

Brooklyn House is a modern, purpose-built care home in Norfolk that provides Residential and Nursing care in Attleborough for up to 40 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
