Bhangra beats at Coxhill Manor

The residents of Coxhill Manor enjoyed a mix of Bhangra and classical Indian dance moves when they took part in a specially organised workshop recently.

Those who live at the Chobham care home take part in a varied programme of activities and they deemed this interactive Bollywood workshop a huge success.

The workshop instructor carried out a demonstration of Bollywood dance and also showed the residents a few moves that they could try themselves. Afterwards she handed out props, including sticks and pom-poms for residents to dance with.

Alan Horler manager of Coxhill Manor care home said:

‘The workshop really was a great success. Everyone had fun and our residents were able to take part in some gentle exercise. It was great so see so many people dancing to the music and using the pom-poms. We like to offer a range of activities to our residents and sometimes it’s nice for them to try something completely different. This workshop was very uplifting and enjoyable.’

Coxhill Manor is a characterful country house in the peaceful location of Chobham. This fine Victorian home provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 60 people.
