Oaken Holt – Living Eggs

Staff and residents at Oaken Holt Care Home in Farmoor have been welcoming a number of new arrivals to the home.
The home took delivery of ten eggs from the organisation ‘Living Eggs’ along with everything required to bring the chicks safely into the world and look after them, including a hatchery and incubator.

Of the ten eggs delivered, eight have so far hatched. The home will continue to look after the chicks for a further week before they return them to the company. As well as providing a common interest for residents and staff, the eggs have brought memories flooding back for many of the days when many families kept chickens.

Set within 23 acres of gardens and parklands in the heart of Oxfordshire, Oaken Holt is a magnificent country estate offering residential and nursing care for up to 55 discerning ladies and gentlemen. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group, which was founded in 1994 by mother and son team, Helena and Paul Jeffery.
