Communal living is enhanced with kitchenettes in the dining areas and a range of seating areas where residents can relax together, as well as with family and friends.

Our commitment to care

Southlands Place is built to enable mobility in a safe environment, with specialist design features that are proven to enhance lives of every resident.

Our home has been purpose built to provide a complete care pathway for our residents – with residential, nursing and dementia care all available in one location. This means that residents can feel confident in the knowledge that their home can cater for them both now and in the future, if their care needs were to change.

As the Home Manager I have a qualified nursing background and lead my professional care team in providing the highest standards of tailored care.

How we ensure the wellbeing of our residents

Our home environment is light and spacious with a welcoming atmosphere. The wellbeing of our residents is at the heart of everything we do at Caring Homes, and our dedicated and passionate care teams work hard to exceed standards.

Visiting us

At Southlands Place we operate an open visiting policy, where friends and family are able to share visits with residents at the times that are most convenient for them.

The local area

Sitting between Eastbourne and Hastings, the quiet seaside town of Bexhill-on-sea is perhaps best known for the De La Warr Pavilion and its link to classic motor racing. To many people it remains the quintessential English seaside resort, with its wide promenade and beaches.

The wider county of East Sussex offers the best of everything; from the beauty of the rolling South Downs and the Seven Sisters Country Park, to the historical sites of Bodiam Castle, Battle Abbey, Lewes Castle and Glyndebourne.

Manager's Profile

Having worked in nursing for the early part of my career, I developed a passion for elderly care and moved into care home management in 1987.

I have since amassed more than 25 years of experience in the sector, and believe I have excelled in both my Home and Senior Management positions.

This wide-ranging experience has equipped me well for my role at Southlands Place, where I will be working hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive.

I believe in maintaining a strong rapport with residents and their relatives, and I understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.

Away from work I am actively involved with my local Baptist Church, where I am a member of the prayer healing ministry team. I also enjoy walking, painting and spending time with my family.
