Located on the edge of the vibrant village of Lightwater in Surrey, Moorlands provides residential and nursing care for up to 40 elderly people in a bright and homely environment. The home’s semi-rural location offers a tranquil setting within easy reach of the village’s many amenities.
Moorlands was originally a large Edwardian family home and now provides the highest standards of residential, nursing and palliative care in an environment that retains a real home from home feel. Residents’ bedrooms and all communal areas are finished to a high standard. This attention to detail is replicated in Moorlands’ care provision. The home enjoys an excellent local reputation for care and maintains strong links with the community.
Moorlands offers a full range of residential and nursing care support, including trial stays, respite breaks and convalescent care as well as long term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms. Moorlands operates an open visiting policy, where residents and loved ones may visit at convenient times. In common with all of our homes, Moorlands’ manager has a qualified nursing background. The home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and has ISO9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation.

"Homely atmosphere, comfortably furnished, adequate and caring staff. Management professional and timely." - David G
"My husband required nursing for an illness not well known, multi system atrophy. All staff members got to know him and treated him with kindness and respect, as were all members of our family who visited Moorlands. We were made to feel like part of a big loving family. He was fed and kept clean at all times and we were always welcome at any time of day or evening." - Anne P
"Sadly my late Mother passed away at Moorlands in a wonderful room which we knew she appreciated, even though she couldn't portray this herself. She was only there for a short space of time as sadly she was submitted (fast-track) via the NHS & was cared for by the nurses as she was at "the end of life" stages - (even though doctors in the hospital don't tell you this) - it was apparent. I couldn't thank the staff & nurses enough for their kindness... carehomes.co.uk" - Anon Person
"Good food. Nice private room. Nice general facilities. Office staff very helpful. Overall the nursing staff are pretty good." - Ken W
"My late husband was a resident in Moorlands Nursing Home for just under 4 years and whilst he was there he received good nursing care both from the nurses and carers. I did have a few problems from time to time but they were dealt with quickly. The last week of his life he was never left alone for more than a few minutes, with staff coming in all the time. His death was handled in a very efficient and sympathetic way and were very caring towards me and my son... carehomes.co.uk" - Barbara M
"For the last year or so of their lives my parents shared a room at Moorlands Care Home. During this time they were treated with dignity and to the highest care and nursing standards. Indeed, many of the staff became close friends with my parents. I too, had an excellent relationship with junior and senior staff alike and my visits were made more enjoyable through their kindness at all times." - Chris T
