Formerly a substantial 1930’s family residence, Latham Lodge has been sensitively converted to provide the highest standards of nursing care for up to 39 elderly people in an environment that retains a real sense of home. Latham Lodge is located in an attractive residential area in Purbrook, on the outskirts of Portsmouth.
Latham Lodge benefits from the most up-to-date facilities and the very highest standard of décor. Residents’ rooms and the bright, spacious communal areas have all been finished to meet the most demanding standards – those of the elderly people we care for, their families and loved ones. Period features have been retained, adding to the sense of homeliness and, when the weather is fine, residents can enjoy the delightful gardens.
Latham Lodge offers a full range of nursing care support, including trial stays, respite breaks and convalescent care as well as long term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms. Latham Lodge operates an open visiting policy, where residents and loved ones may visit at convenient times. In common with all of our homes, Latham Lodge’s manager has a qualified nursing background. The home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and has ISO9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation.

Life in a Caring Home is viewed as a continuum of life – an opportunity to gain new experiences and learn new things – whilst maintaining your existing hobbies and interests.
At every Caring Home, there is a dedicated activities co-ordinator who is on hand to support residents in learning new hobbies and maintaining existing ones.
An activities programme is developed by the activities co-ordinators who work in conjunction with the clinical team in reviewing each individuals occupational interests and tailoring an activities programme that addresses them.
