Located in the quiet village of Attleborough, less than a mile from Nuneaton in Warwickshire, Gildawood Court provides specialist dementia care in two purpose-built buildings for up to 60 elderly people.
Gildawood Court has become well established in the local community and is a very highly regarded service. The two self-contained wings ensure that the smaller home from home ambience so important to dementia care is retained and this focus on providing the best environment to meet our residents’ needs permeates throughout the service.
Gildawood Court has been designed to meet the University of Stirling’s universally respected dementia care standards. Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre is renowned as the world leader in this field. The Stirling approach ensures that residents are able to move freely around the home, with bedrooms and communal areas appropriately laid out and clearly signposted to minimise confusion or disorientation.
Gildawood Court is ideally equipped to provide residential support for elderly people living with different types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia and Korsacoff’s syndrome. However, staff never lose sight of the fact that, first and foremost, Gildawood Court is home to our residents. Both wings enjoy a light, airy and welcoming ambience and residents benefit from a broad and stimulating range of activities.
The home offers a full range of dementia care support, including trial stays, respite breaks and convalescent care as well as long term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms. Gildawood Court operates an open visiting policy, where residents and loved ones may visit at convenient times. In common with all of our homes, Gildawood Court’s manager has a qualified nursing background. The home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and has ISO9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation.

Our Care Home in Warwickshire has a sensory/activities room with dedicated activities co-ordinator working in conjunction with the clinical team in reviewing each individuals occupational interests and tailoring an activities programme that addresses them.
The Nuneaton retirement home is ideally equipped to provide residential support for people living with different types of dementia and offers a full range of dementia care support, including trial stays, respite breaks and convalescent care as well as long term care.
