I am a qualified nurse with 18 years’ experience in the National Health Service (NHS) and private care homes, as well as in the teaching sector. I have also completed graduate and post-graduate training in nursing, a Registers Managers award and Leadership in Dementia qualification.
I started my career as an Assistant Lecturer in India in 1997 before joining the NHS in the UK as a Junior Sister for the Care of the elderly on an acute medical ward. I then joined a BUPA nursing home as Deputy Manager before becoming Home Manager for a nursing home in Guildford.
I served as a General Manager across three care homes in 2008, including one residential and two nursing homes; in this capacity, I was a finalist in the Registered Manager category of the 2014 Great British Care Awards for the South East Region.
I currently live in Guildford with my daughter and am enjoying my new role as the manager of Coppice Lea Care Home. I am and always have been very passionate about my job, and will work with staff and residents to achieve the best for our home from the ability and personal skills that I bring to Coppice Lea.
