Located in the heart of the historic town of Braintree, Bradbury House is the very first home in the Caring Homes family. The home dates in part from the 17th century and, following a comprehensive and sympathetic conversion, retains many original features whilst also providing an outstanding residential care setting.
Bradbury House enjoys an enviable reputation for delivering the very highest standard of residential care in a homely and friendly environment for up to 21 elderly people. This highly sought after home is renowned for its ‘home from home’ ambience. Period features, such as wooden beams and the inglenook fireplace in the living room, contribute to the home’s comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Bradbury House has very strong local community links and residents regularly enjoy the many amenities Braintree has to offer, including coffee and tea shops, the museum and local theatre.
The home offers a full range of residential care support, including trial stays, respite breaks and convalescent care as well as long term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms. Bradbury House operates an open visiting policy, where residents and loved ones may visit at convenient times. In common with all of our homes, Bradbury House’s manager has a qualified nursing background. The home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and has ISO 9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation.

Life in a Caring Home is viewed as a continuum of life – an opportunity to gain new experiences and learn new things – whilst maintaining your existing hobbies and interests.
At every Caring Home, there is a dedicated activities co-ordinator who is on hand to support residents in learning new hobbies and maintaining existing ones.
An activities programme is developed by the activities co-ordinators who work in conjunction with the clinical team in reviewing each individuals occupational interests and tailoring an activities programme that addresses them.
